<p>I have been working in Hartford for a couple of months and have a few months left. Is anyone familiar with the area and could maybe point me to areas of interest for a photographer?<br>

<p>Wethersfield Cove at sunset, Elizabeth Park, Devils Hopyard (a bit of a drive) and three hours away but photo opportunities galore, outer Cape Cod.</p>

<p>Don't know if they still do this, but years ago they designated the Saturday after Labor Day as "Photo Day". They had their staff dress in period costumes and allowed them to model for photographers in the historic settings of the boats and shops in the museum. No model releases, but still a lot of fun.</p>

<p>I lived in Hartford for 1 year, 9 months, 18 days, and 13 hours. My conclusion was that it was two hours away from anyplace that I'd rather be. Take a road trip to Boston, Vermont, or New York. The Connecticut shore is nice - if you can get access, and it's less than 2 hours away.</p>
