rob_gruber
I'm looking for some sort of case (not necessarily a camera case, anything will do) for my Rolleicord V. I'm going backpacking in Yosemite and have never been a fan of big photobags. I'd like something I could hook to the packs shoulder straps or waistbelt to keep the camera close at hand. Room for a coupla rolls of film would be nice but not necessarily. Small, light and cheap would be good. Most camera cases I see are overkill. I'd probably use the same case to stick inside my messanger bag for padding while I'm street shooting. I'm toying with the idea of just a Domke insert which I would somehow attack to the pack. Something just big enough to hold the camera and provide quick access. Thanks
justthings
I use an old soft padded waist pack made for an slr - it was just big enough for a 35mm camera body with a 50mm lens attached, or a 135mm if you squeezed it in. Now that I don't have that 35mm anylonger, I use the case for my Rolleicord V - the fit is a little tight but it works just fine. Maybe look around for a similar newer or used case. donald_brewster
LowePro Photo Runner. Works great and nicely padded. Might be a tad bigger than you're looking for. Room for camera, meter, filters and film.

rob_gruber
I think the LowePro Photorunner case is a bit big. Since it's a TLR, I don't need room for another lens or really anything else. Just looking for something that holds and protects the camera itself. TLR's are just a strange size so they are a bit difficult to find something to fit. Ideally I'd like something like the little Lowepro case I have for my Yashica T4 that just fits the camera snugly and had a way to put on a belt or use with a shoulder strap. richard_laepple
Rob, take a look at the Lowepro Nova micro. It's ideal for only one TLR and some films, filters and close up lenses. Usually I put my Baby Rollei in it, sometimes my Rolleicord. It has a shoulder strap, but you can also use a waistbelt. The Nova line is great, useful features and not too expensive. I have three sizes.
norman_miller
I carry a Rollei plus prism, pistol grip, table tripod, film and 2 meters in Lowepro Linx 320. Outstanding for security, weight, comfort. Norman Miller
mark_erickson
I use my Lowepro Photo Runner with my Yashica 124G because I have it and it works. It actually works pretty well, and isn't too big.
As an alternative, you might check out the various bags that make up the Lowepro Street and Field series. They have a number of padded accessory bags that might fit a TLR....
rob_gruber
I bought a LowePro Street and Field Pouch 50 AW from B and H. I looked at the Nova Mini but it had too much stuff for me, too many pockets etc and was a bit large. I also almost bought a Tamarac case but it seemed badly constructed (the velcro was frayed and worn in the floor model). The Lowepro case fits perfectly. The only problem is that it lacks a velcro closure which I like for quick no fumbling with little fastex clasps access. So on my way home I stopped at Radio Shack and bought some 3" velcro strips which I attached with their self adhesive glue. I expect this won't hold and I'll get the velcro sewn on. Thanks for the suggestions. Oh, the Street and Field series also has a nice belt loop with velcro which will easily attach to the waistbelt of a backpack (Lowerpro calls this a SlipLock system but doesn't really explain it). It also features a built-in fold up rain cover that tucks into to a pocket at the bottom of the pouch. I'm a bit skeptical of that and will pack a zip lock as well.
