douglas_cummings
Does either camera have multiple autofocus points or just one in the middle? Or are both kinda like a Minolta Maxxum circa 1988?
q.g._de_bakker
Douglas, The H1 has just one, central autofocus point.
jhbeckman
I believe that is true of the 6008AF as well. I have played with it at a photo store; if it has more than one focus point, I didn't see them, and I don't know how one would access them. gary voth
For what it's worth, my Canon EOS-1V has 45 AF points... but 90% of the time I use just one. Keeps it simple, and puts me back in control of the camera. (The times I don't are when focus tracking an eratically moving subject, ala sports, something you won't generally do with a MF camera.) douglas_cummings
I personally prefer the 5 pt system seen on the F100 as it is much less cluttered than the higher end Canons. The points are very useful outside the center though not always used. I have always tried to do anything with my MF cameras that can be done w/ 35mm including action now that AF is available. But come on- do we have to lag behind 35mm again?! At these prices?
gary voth
Actually, a nice point of the higher-end Canons is that the AF points are not visible until active, so in practice there is virtually no viewfinder clutter. (But it's okay to still prefer the F-100.)
