Flash for Olympus E-30 & E-510

<p>What are my 3rd party options to get a Hotshoe flash for my Olympus e-30 & e-510? I know the option from Olympus FL-50R which I like from what I read but just curious to know whether there are good alternatives.<br>

<p>I think not Nezih. Get the FL 50 ,pay the price and be happy forevermore. There are lots of alternatives,- discussed on som length in the Olympus 4/3 forum-- but no really great alternatives unless you give up dedicated features and go back a generatio. <br /> Metz says they make flashes to fulfill all the functionality of Olympus cameras, but I don't trust them, once burned twice shy, and they have spotty distribution and service in some countries like North America.<br>

Get the FL 50R, a wonderful product that you will love. Then find an off camera coiled cord to get it off camera Look up the third party outfit ( JJC technology,Chinese accessory mfr, I think it is called which has national distributors all around) that makes cables to fit Olympus contacts and keep the functionality.<br /> Olympus off shoe cables are nothing special and are also a litt;le overpriced for what they offer IMO)<br /> Aloha, gs</p>
