 "What's next?"

After all the things that have been done from the first idea that landed in your mind, through all the discarded and modified plans, till the result that you reported on the forum, you deserved a real break after all.

As a photographer, I would like to share the happiness of such a giant success. As a viewer, I must confess I also am an admirer to your work. As a husband, I am jealous since you've got a wonderful spouse-friend. And as a Vietnamese, I wish I had some 10 percent of your energy and talent to plan a photographic project about the other side the dark side of our poor motherland and miserable people who still live there.

Since you were able to create, manage and fulfill your project, I don't see a dilemma to your "marketing" steps. Just relax. Your tree has fruits now. I hope you already had in mind the kind of tree you are going to grow next.

My sincere congratulations and best regards,

Don't know why, but until now I never thought to have a peek at your pictures. Indeed, you are very good, and they were a pleasure to see. But I was certainly surprised that it was all 35mm. My suggestion -- now that you've practiced, go back and do it right, with Large Format Black and White. Like God intended. Bill

Thanks to everyone for the ideas.

Bill, as explaned on the National Parks project page,

site, many of the images were taken with

LF and 35 at the same time (well.. a few minutes later). For the

purpose of displaying on the web, there is absolutely no point

of scanning from the LF transparency, and anyways the time and

cost of doing so for the collection would have been prohibitive.

There were a couple of years when I shot exclusively with the 5x7.

I realized this was a mistake for me, as this caused me to miss

a number of opportunities (main reasons:

too windy, too long a lens needed,

not enough DOF, conditions changing too fast, company). That's why there

are a number of images which exist only in 35mm. I don't know

for sure what the intentions of God are :-), but I know that

he did give us better color perception than dogs.

And also my wife is very understanding, but she does get tired

of the photography esp. in LF. At the time I got married, I

had phographed 55 of the 57 national parks.
