h._fiona_cochran
I know this may sound like an odd question, but...

Does photoshop have a zoom limit and is there any way to override it? I can't get it to zoom past 1600%. Then again I am using CS(1).

Thanks
martin_howard1
No afaik 1600% is the maximum, that applies to later versions as well.

I'm interested - why do you need such a high zoom level?
fotoviva
Yep, when you get to max zoom you can't make much out anyway!
discordianist1
You can't get closer then that on photoshop, but to need zoom level beyond that would mean that you're playing around with insanely large original files. I know the deal since I noticed the same issue when I cleaned up a file sized 250cm x 160cm (330dpi), but in the end I got by 1600% and even levels less then that just fine. Unless you have files which you plan on getting printed in sizes of several meters, I don't see the need of larger enlargement. Of course my point is highly personal.
Charles_Webster
I work at 800% or even 1600% when I'm doing bit-level editing and blemish removal. It's not that uncommon.

<Chas>
h._fiona_cochran
My goal, essentially is to enlarge the pixels into bigger blocks. I have already lowered the pixels per inch down to 1 per square inch and I am trying to simply get them blown up.

My goal, in the end is kind of a handmade photomosaic in which I manually sample all he pixels and choose an image of the correct color from a preselected library of imagery. I want it to be of a very choppy/blocked nature, so that you have to stand very far away to see it.
h._fiona_cochran
I basically want to make my final project something that is about 20 by 30 with only one pixel per square inch.
Ray House
Simply go into Photoshop...Image - Size and resample. If your image is at 10" wide, then change the pixel count to 10.
