Lens Hood for a Super Angulon 21mm

<p>As far as I know the only one to use is the official Leica one that fits the external bayonet, although when I had mine I often used it without the hood as the hood was a bit of a pain to take on and off (it was very tight). I did not find it essential to use a hood most of the time.</p>

<p>The Leica part number is 12506. Alternatively a 72mm screw-in hood may work, or even a larger one via a stepping ring. The main value is to give some physical protection to that large exposed chunk of glass.</p>

<p>I've only used a 72mm UV filter on it which the height of the filter rim seems to be enough; I am not using a slim filter that wide angles usually calls for. I always thought of getting the proper hood, but so far it doesn't seem to be necessary.</p>
