AndyMiller
I use Op/Tech Pro straps on all my cameras. They are comfy and practical and also slightly longer which I like. Never use the Nikon straps which come with the cameras - so I use a D3 and D700 - so what? - I still cannot take decent photographs.....
brucecahn
No straps. They get in the way,get caught on doorknobs, slow down handling the camera if you use a tripod a lot. And I never trust that they will stay on.

luis_g
I have many old thin black Nikon leather-like straps, some An-4Bs, Tamrac, one Optech, a few original Canon, OM and Nikon, but my favorite straps, on all the cameras I currently use, are Domke.

samn
Tamrac strap, like wet suit material. Had it for years and follows from primary body to primary body. Totally comfortable. Takes all the shock out of the camera weight if worn around neck. Light and durable.

steve_lantz
Domke also, love them after trying several others over the years. Second favorite are the stock Canon straps. I find the Domke secure, comfortable, and doesn't get hot in the sun.

JDMvW
Another person here who dislikes the "steal me" straps advertising the camera maker*.

I have replaced most of mine with Tamrac Neoprene N-25 straps. They are more comfortable, less likely to slip off your shoulder and come in glorious black, blue, or maroon..... That-a-way I can reach into the kit for a body and get the right one without looking at the bodies themselves. Actually, my maroon one is OP/TECH, I see, but otherwise looks just like the Tamracs.

*However, if I ever sell a camera, someday, instead of simply adding them, I will put the maker's strap back on it. I also have a whole box full of PRAKTICA camera straps that I bought some time ago. All new and no worse than the Canon or Nikon ones, except a name no one now remembers... (sob). Actually, thieves when they see a Praktica strap, tend to run the other way....

It's a Special Order deal at Samy's so I snatched up the only one at Ebay for $14.

I'm looking forward to getting it.

Cheers.

Paul
pictureted
I use the Op-tech pro-loop strap on my D90. I liked the old Nikon thin, leather straps for my F3HP, but prefer the stretchy, sticky Op-tech, since the new lenses are heavier than the AIS lenses I used to shoot with. I also can't see using the new Nikon straps that slip while they scream NIKON, expensive camera...
mike dixon
I use the neoprene Tamrac quick-release straps on all my cameras. Not sure of the model number, but they're the ones that are about 2.5 inches wide, contoured, and springy. I regularly have the camera on my shoulder for six or seven hours at a time, and the wide, springy strap makes it far more comfortable.

john_h.1
I'm with Bruce. No straps. No camera swinging about, no strips of material getting in the way or snagged. A good fitting non-zippered holster is quick, reliable and safe.

jpo3136b
If any of us were any good at this, we'd have cameras supported by a tangerine Wonder Bra off of some college coed partying in Cancun!

I have the original strap on my old ME Super; it's just that thin 1/2" webbing. My favorites are the neoprene ones from Tamarac. I bought a replacement recently, and it was, I think, an N-25 or something like that. They're plain black neoprene about an inch or two wide. The buckles changed on them from ten years ago, but otherwise the same.

Gearheads note: Using this strap has been the main reason why I make such great pictures. ;-)

I am not responsible for any decrease in camera strap sales as a result of this statement.

Several of my older cameras are strapless. If I want them to run around with no straps on, that's my business!

I don't need to get my camera into action all that fast but I love how the camera hangs and is carried bandolier style. I try to do that with my regular strap all the time and it makes it a pain to use the camera without taking it back off and hanging it around my neck. Sold! Just ordered one.
lisahorton
Most of the straps that come with cameras are too gaudy for me, with brand and even model name emblazoned along them. I usually use OpTech Pro Loop straps. I've used them for pretty heavy stuff, like the lead/acid battery pack for the old Metz monster flash, and never had the QR break or release unexpectedly. One reason I like them is that when I'm not wanting a strap, which is most of the time, the little tails clip together to make a short strap that makes it easy to pull the camera out of the bag. Just a nice little convenience. The wide neoprene really does reduce the strain on my old shoulder, which in truth is the primary reason I use them.
philip_wilson
Almost all are Domke but there are a few Canon ones (7D, A1 and one of the T90s) and a Fuji on one of the GX680s with a Mamiya on both M645s and the Contax G2s and Nikonos use the manufacturer straps.
