olympus sp 800uz for bird photography

<p>I am looking for current owners of this camera. I am landscape photographer that doesnt want to spend $$$$ on a 300 2.8 lens for a few wildlife photographs. There are some bald eagles nesting within a couple of miles of my home and this looks like an economical way to do this.</p>

<p>Not if you want to catch them in flight. The SP series AF system has not been very good and I'm not sure anyone should expect any revelation with this new model. If they stay still for a few seconds somewhere, maybe, but that's it.</p>

<p>I second Greg's comment on the AF seek time. The images are very fine if you have the time to secure the camera on a tripod, monopod, or tree. Use the focus lock to make multiple exposures, that way less time will elapse between rapid multiple exposures.</p>
