ponticus
I have bought recently a Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 520 (A) folder camera, the 6x4.5 cm version, and I was wondering if anyone can help me find out when it was produced. It is equipped with a Novar 3.5/70 lens and a Compur (T, B, 1-1/300) shutter. The serial number of the lens is 1301303.

On www.craigcamera.com/zeisslen.htm this serial number is listed as produced in 1931, but from what I read this camera was produced only starting 1933 and for the first years it was equipped with a slower Novar, either 6.3 or 4.5.

I plan to use the camera to shoot a series of pictures of buildings, cars and outfits that existed in the year the camera was produced, therefore I will need to date it pretty accurately.

Thank you.
celasun
There is a Yahoo group for Zeiss Ikon camera afficionados (named ZICG).
Some of the members are quite knowledgeable and I am sure they will handle your request easily.
