feisol preset angle issue

OK I am ready to buy another tripod. I have a bogen 3021pro with a Arca-Swiss Z1 head -still going strong but just

too heavy for my longer hikes. I like the Feisol Tournament ct-3342. Has all that I need. Light weight, 3 legs seems

supportive enough for my style, great price and even comes with a travel bag.I just couln't see why I would pay

almost double for my other choice the Gitzo gt 1531. But here is what I am concerned about - Preset leg angles at

25, 50, and 75 degrees-

Is this going to restrict what I can do? I am used to the 3021 where I can place in any direction or angle. Has anyone

had a problem with preset for your legs??

<br />My new 055XPROB (the aluminum version of Matt's) does and I still can position it inbetween. Mine's still stiff tho, it's only less than a year old. See ...<br>

<p>Thanks Jim. I didn't know you could position inbetween. I just figured if they gave you 3 preset positions then that was all you get. This is nice to hear. I wanted to save on the Feisol. </p>

<p>Pretty much all tripods have preset angles, but some like gitzo are stiff enough so that the leg will easily stay at any intermediate angle.</p>
