durukan_payzanoglu
OK! I have to make it up for last week. so here are my comments.
Narayan Kovvali , definitely increased my desire to shoot star trails.
Tiffany Brook , I really like your portraits. Always emotional.
Lil Judd , Jaw dropping detail. As I donot have one of those reverse rings, I usually use two 50 mm's stacked together. I have posted one on 2010: #1 but it was far from being tact sharp! By the way, I always have to use my mobile to look at your photos as the web page you upload yours is blocked by the firewall at work ;).
Ertugrul Kilic , Nice feeling. Plus, this festival is on my "things to do before you die" list. So, I am emotionally attached.
Jeff Farkash , Just wow!
Aguinaldo de Paula , Very nice feeling created by the high key.
Ashim Dey , made me want to cuddle the toy! I made one of my friends buy LX-3 and now I am jelous of him! Really great pice it is
Bob Dein , too good for a first a try! ;)
And the others I like most so far:
Paula Wang , Cees Maas , Kemal Riza, Sankha Hota , Mark Gordon , Filip Lucin , Slava Nikulin, Pascal Burel, Michael Mixon
Cheers.
Durukan

LindaM
Barry, I love your fiddler. She seems so "at one" with her music.
Alejandro, Your wrestler is fantastic. I find those guys rather surreal. I'd love to have the opportunity to shoot them some day.
Wouter Willemse
Tiffany, thanks for the kind comment. It's encouraging to hear from such a skilled photographer!
It's been a great thread so far, the quality of the photos is just really stunning and the diversity this week made it a very nice 'rollercoaster ride' around the world. Thanks all!
Some photos that caught my attention this week are...

Matt Laur: Impressive, looks almost like the north pole melting :-) The snow almost looks a bit like there were some dogs, though, judging from colour... I guess I miss your dogs.
Narayan Kovvali: very impressive, the rocks look very sharp (must be a good tripod!) and overall like daylight. If you would have written nothing, it would be a hard guess about the time, except for the trails. Cool alienating effect.
Lil Judd: Wow, it makes the grasshopper seem an enormous animal. I've got limited skills/experience in macro, but I know this must have been a seriously difficult shot to get.
Matthew Brennan: I love it, great textured feel and the colours make it a great photo for those aching for a bit of spring.
Cees Maas: a picture one takes only every other blue moon... Lovely serene feel.
Tony Hadley: Great sky, good use of wide angle.
Jeff Farkash: Very nice. If Blackberry does not contact you to use this photo for an ad campaign, they're nuts.
Grant Tanner: I love the colour.
Rene' Villela: Cool shot, well timed. Swans stay impressive.
Per-Christian Nilssen: Damn it looks like a LOT of snow. Very serene, I like the simplicity a lot.
Markku Vihava: Looks cold and cool. Makes me want to go for a good walk, somehow.
Dubravko Grakalic: Like a Dickens-mood photo, highly atmospheric.
Bob Dein: What a great first post! (and welcome)
Sanford Dickerson: Great blue sky really makes the picture pop.
Wenshu Chen: I love this photo. It makes you really wander what happened there.

Now I seem to do a great injustice to the portraits this week... I find it hard to choose! Yes, they're all quite different, but to me they all capture the person really well and set the right mood for what they're presenting. I envy that skill for sure, seeing it makes me realise how much there is left to learn for me; and I'm grateful for that because learning means practising and I love doing just that :-). Really, top work, thanks for sharing!

liljuddakalilknyttphotogra
I simply wish to thank:
Rick Dohme - ( promise not to use this method with snakes, but I did use it on a Black Widow - a poisonous spider for those who may not know - the other morning & in hindsight not something I'll repeat.
Dieter - for your kind words.
Tiffany - yes they do have amazing faces & their mouths... Glad you enjoyed.
Durukan - thank you so very much, so very kind. I think stacking lenses will be far too heavy & clumsy. What I like with this setup is the smallness & lightness of it. But, the bugs have to be willing & you have to be very slow & careful to get close enough to them. I'd recommend you try to get your hands on a Nikon BR-2A ring & just try reversed lens. But since you'll be so close to your subject you really need to use a flash (on board is fine) to get light on your subject.
Wouter - Revers macro is not easy. It amuses me that I insist on working on it due to the level of difficulty. But then, I've never been known to go the easy way. ;-) And I do like a challenge. I actually took a shot of the same grasshopper with a 24mm f/2.8 reversed. But that's so difficult I want to work more with my 50mm before I tackle that again. Also - at 24mm I really didn't get too much of the grasshopper's face. I think 35mm is correct for a head shot of a grasshopper it's size. And the 50mm reversed it perfect for a body shot like this.
Thank You All for noticing my work. :-)
I'll be back to comment another day as my headache prevents me from concentrating too much today. I just didn't want to not thank those kind enough to comment on my photo.
