sd_woods
I apologise about the category, I don't really know anything about lighting or strobes or whatever the vogue term happens to be.
So anyway, I once watched a video of Bruce Gilden taking pictures in New York. I looked at the resulting photographs, hated them, but thought that perhaps something good could be done using a similar technique. I'll find the video for you if you don't know what I'm talking about(not that I know what I'm talking about mind you). There seemed to be a little wire connecting the camera to the flash unit. It's not for any particular use. Just well.. emm lighting up bits of the stuff in front of my lens which I feel might compositionally gain from more light?

I use a Contax G1, by the way.
Matt Laur
Sounds like a simple "PC" cord. It presumes that your camera and your flash each have the appropriate connector. Sometimes, that requires a hot-shoe adapter for one or both of them. Just promise you won't use the rig like Gilden, assaulting little old ladies and whatnot.
sd_woods
I don't have a flash to begin with... just getting started on that front. I promise I won't use it like Gilden, because not only was he flashbanging strangers(don't get any ideas), but the pictures sucked too.
