Tony Evans Posted February 28, 2010 Share Posted February 28, 2010
Went out in the sun today. One could almost believe spring might be coming. Took the dog to Hawrelek Park with, as usual wrong lens on (50 not 28). Anyway, in celebration that it just might be coming, we have;

Tony Evans Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MattB.Net Posted March 1, 2010 Share Posted March 1, 2010
Haig, love the storm. Especially the first shot.
Javier, the reflection of your son is really nice.
Hin, great goose!

I spent the weekend celebrating my son's 7th birthday which included a lot of activities and we wound up spending last night at a nearby hot springs ranch which also operates as a dude ranch in the summer. Lots of fun stuff to take photos of there and I came home with hundreds. I brought my K-x and an assortment of lenses and managed to escape a few times to shoot subjects besides the celebration. Here's a few that I liked right away.
Old Truck behind the pool. frank_b._baiamonte Posted March 1, 2010 Share Posted March 1, 2010
A friend and I went out on Tuesday evening to get some night shots of the San Diego skyline. Did a bit of painting with light on this old paddle wheeler turned floating restaurant. K20D, DA 35, 20 sec at f/10, ISO 250, and a flashlight.

Tried out a few with the fisheye as well. K20D, DA 10-17 FE at 10mm, 30 sec at f/13, ISO 250, and a flashlight.

After we finished with the skyline we went looking for someplace to get a shot of the airport runway lights. We found a street corner overlooking the airport, almost directly under the landing path. The longest lens I had with me was the DA 70, it would have been nice to have something longer. We're going to try this one again when there is still some light in the sky so that we can try to the planes in the shots, not just their lights. K20D, DA 70, 30 sec at f/13, ISO 250.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
