steve_t.1
Well, let's get this started, shall we?

I wandered around downtown Minneapolis on Saturday morning. Here are two shots-

And a self-portrait while on the move.

And from a few nights ago, I went looking for night shots of downtown and found this pattern carved into the snow. Unexplained patterns in the snow, light streaks in the sky... UFO's? 20-30 second exposure, pattern "painted" with a flashlight.

michael_elenko
Ian and Steve T.,
Very cool shots.
Ian, are you sure that those "northern lights" over the prairie isn''t Steve T triggering a chain of strobes with green filters and reflectors? I smell a conspiracy here!

ME
deaner66
I've been playing with my Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4. This is a great piece of glass. Maybe a little soft wide open, but a stop down and this thing is very sharp.

hagar
An auspicious start :-) Urban settings and UFOs, to muskrats and wildfowl.. Nice ones too :-) That's a pretty neat 'paint' job Steve T.
I have a bit of a mixed bag as well.. A portrait to start with

hagar
Ooops, sorry Steve D.. those Clematis are really neat.
My second shot is from a walk in the desert yesterday.. we've had quite a bit of rain, and there is a lot of green stuff around. No wildflowers yet, I expect we'll get a good crop of them this year.

michael_elenko
Javier, that last one is near perfect. The others are pretty close too. I love it when the show unfolds right in front of me, especially when a camera is at hand.

ME
bob-c
An interesting start to the weekly gallery. I think Javier's third shot is my favorite so far but it is always difficult to choose as they are all so well done.
My first shot is of a young man who is a senior at my school. He is the goalie on our ice hockey team. ( I shot my first hockey game this weekend and will post some of the action shots later in the week.) I chose to post this picture of Corey because not he is not only a goalie but you should see his photography! He is in the advanced photography class at school and I have seen much of his work. He is really good. He is planning to major in film in college.

bob-c
The second shot was taken yesterday in Ambler, PA. The Frostbite 5 Mile was about to take place. My son Daniel, who has become a rather serious runner lately was running with a group that he has been helping out with for a few months now. They are called BACK ON OUR FEET. It is a group that helps homeless people get back on their feet through running. This shot is of the group that gathered yesterday to run in the race. About a third of them are living in homeless shelters. Here they are supporting each other before heading out to the starting line.

Worse : I haven't made a single photo is about 4 weeks ! This week I was doing a folder 'portraits'.
Different styles :

shots worth sharing
Whoa! I love Haig's cigar portrait, Steve's Clematis and Robert's nature shot!

You won't be surprised that I'm still shooting birds but I've also been fascinated by the (slowly diminishing) ice on the shrubbery outside the kitchen window--especially as it catches the early morning light. It's not an easy subject though. I've had the best results from the Voightlander 180mm.

denise_savage
Nice work all, I have a few that are favourites - Steve T's 3rd, Ian's 2nd, Javier's 3rd, Ben's Kookaburra moon, the story that comes with the second one of Robert's (and the first for that matter) and the first one from Dorus. Like the ice ones too Dave.
We had some local neighbourhood drama this afternoon and I took the girls down to have a squizz - along with a few others too. Have smelt of smoke ever since.

Tony Evans
Been visiting my daughter in surgery at the U of A Hospital. Not been on campus for some time. Intrigued with all the new buildings including this glass one. Decided the refections were worth a shot.

Tony Evans
Tony Evans
Dave,
Forgot to mention (on Denise's behalf) a "squizz" is Antipodean slang for a "look".
Tony Evans
