Pocket wizard for Promaster 7500 edf

I am fairly new to lighting methods and techniques. I have had the Promaster 7500edf for a year now, and have only used it on the

hotshoe mount. I have a photography workshop for lighting coming up and the suggested equipment is a canon flash and a pocket wizard.

Buying a quality canon flash is not in my budget right now because of new lenses I recently purchased, and thecost of

this workshop. My question is, will a pocket wizard work on a my current flash unit? I hate to buy a cheaper trigger made by promaster

because I will eventually upgrade my flash unit, just not before this workshop.
