paul hart
I'm scanning 6x6 colour transparencies using the plastic frame provided with the scanner. It scans some perfectly well, without fuss; however, after previewing others it declares 'no document found'; switching to manual mode doesn't seem to help - it just scans the frame as well as the transparency in it! The only pattern I can discern is that it is happy with contrasty pictures of sunny, outdoor scenes but fails to recognise darker/less contrasty ones; however this is not consistently so. Can anyone offer any help? BTW I'm using TWAIN 5.
david_littleboy__tokyo__ja
Forget the Epson TWAIN and get Vuescan at www.hamrick.com. It'll be the best $40 you've ever spent.
peterneibert
I had endless problems & frustrations with TWAIN, including the one you described.
I gave-up on TWAIN and went with Silverfast SE exclusively, as a plug-in installed within Photoshop 7's "Plug-in Folder." Since then it's been working reliably on all media, positive, negative, color, b & w, transparency and reflective.
Caution: before you give-up on TWAIN, be sure you are removing the plate from the cover when you scan transparencies and replace it snugly when you are doing reflective scans.
