aaron_d.
Like many people, I like to use two cameras when shooting events. My preferred carrying method is to have both straps over my neck and one shoulder, so the straps are crossed in the front and back. My problem is that all my camera straps have a non-slip surface on one or both sides, making the camera I put on first difficult to swing to my eye. Is there a decent, padded camera strap out there that doesn't have a non-slip surface?

I've seen Blackrapid's R-Strap, but I'm not really excitied by the attachment method - I basically like having the straps connected to the strap lugs. I also don't like quick release straps, so a strap without the quick release funtion would be better.

Thanks,
Aaron
todd peach seattle, washi
Off the wall: make your own?

Back in the 70's when most camera straps looked more at home on a banjo (wild prints, 3" wide, oversize chrome stamped hardware), I visited a horse tack shop (for the H/W) and a climbing store (for the nylon webbing) and simply sewed my own. It was bullet-proof strong, and the only thing I *didn't* care for was that it was a little slippery.

Just a thought.
mt4x4
You could try the op/tech Classic Strap (not the super classic). The Classic doesn't have any type of non-slip.

Or better yet, you could just get the op/tech Dual Harness .

markonestudios
Sounds like the perfect candidate for some DIY. I carry my cameras very similarly to you :) In fact, I've been meaning to make one myself (most likely mod my existing straps, or buy standard ones and mod those.
