bellavance
How can I be certain that Dell Canada are shipping the A01 version of the U2410?
I've called them and they haven't heard of A00 and A01 versions...
bellavance
I've called Dell Canada a second time, and the sales rep confirmed they are shipping Version A01 of the U2410.
I've therefore ordered one, taking advantage of their current unbeatable price.
Thanks to all who helped me make up my mind.
steve_bingham
Photo editing? I would suggest a wide gamut monitor such as the NEC Multisync LCD 2690WUXi2 . . . whish gives 99% aRGB when properly calibrated. Around $1,050. This is about as good as it gets without spending a lot more money. More importantly, it is great for soft proofing!
jimmy_reina
Can I ask a similar question with a different qualifier- are the monitor results dependent on the video card? The reading I have done implies that the graphics card could be the bottleneck.
I am also looking for a good middle of the road monitor of quality. My graphics chip is a Nvidia 6100, and if this is a restricting factor, I don't want to overbuy, (unless I can upgrade the card)
I don't do a lot of pixel manipulation, my editing is mostly rotate, crop, contrast, etc. but I do like a strong image, and look for the best quality in my price range.
To give this perspective, I am actually quite happy with my 12 year old Gateway EVF720 which is exhibiting it's death rattle.
I get it that the monitor I choose should probably not be a TN, I suspect I would be happy with a PVA monitor, and would consider an IPS if the argument could be made for it.

thanks in advance.
