I want to use the cybersync for the distance.

any ideas?

nathan_meador
make sure the transmitter is on all the way, sometimes I bump mine and it slides off a bit and won't fire. If that isn't it, I'm not sure...not familiar with Nikon, but sounds like an in-camera setting issue?
howard_m
no in-camera setting. perhaps the xmitter has a defective hotshoe contact or you haven't pushed it far enough onto the hotshoe.
have you tried using the PC cord to the D300 terminal ?
you should contact PCB customer support

model mayhem gallery
I agree test it with the PC Sync cord from Cybersync transmitter to the camera. You can also call Paul Buff technical support. However, if everything works with a test fire it could be that you have a bad transmitter or the contacts are not matching up correctly to you d300. I use two canon 580 EX flashes on both my 5D2 and 30D with no problems. Works absolutely great and has excellent range even around corners or through walls.
picturesque
Describe your set up. You have a transmitter making contact with the camera through the hotshoe or PC terminal, and you have a receiver set up with the SB900, right? If you press the transmitter test button and the SB fires, the culprit is the contact between the transmitter and camera--either hotshoe or PC terminal.
ray_dockrey
You do have the camera in manual mode right? That is the only way I know of that it will work.
shawnee_pedraza
yes everythin is in Manual. It must be the transmitter...Thanks for all the help.
picturesque
Shawnee--it would help if you describe the set up. There could be something that would be obvious to us, but not to you. How is the transmitter connected? Describe every contact.
