rod_melotte
I've been having good luck with a printing service. I use a HueyS5Pro for color management. My last order I had print come back dark. I politely asked them about this. We have a very good relationship (meaning I spend a lot of $$ there).
The reply was did I have a dpi target.jpg and they sent one. What do I do with this?
Now - depending on if this is my monitors error or not here is the image. TO ME this is very blueish, the tree branches on the right are very distinct (in a painterly way). The words "to dark" is not something anyone would think. My print to me says wow - too dark.
SO - dpi target.jpg ???

don_cooper
I refer to it occasionally after calibrating my monitor just to get a confirmation. I think the point is 'how does it look on your monitor' and nothing else. Too dark, too light, too blue, etc.
rod_melotte
Well - the question is how does it look printed I'd say LOL .
patricklavoie
that doetsn mean anything.. maybe he or you mean icm profile embed?

In any case a huey pro or not is not a good device, that say, your problem is mainly due because you probably save youre jpeg in a Adobe RGB color space..lab dont like that. Better save them as sRGB next time and ask the lab not to color managed your image, you should be pretty close to your calibrate screen IF the lab know how to print.

This is a reference image the lab sent? change lab..they are clueless about color management. How one is suppose to know if the image is too blue because of the low light wintery conditon or if this is a color cast? a reference image should have knowed image that are real reference..search the web for a photodisc or getty image if you want a real one.

rod_melotte
Exactly! This place is nice because they are MUCH cheaper then most but . . . as you say . . . sometimes cheap is cheap. sRGB - I'll look into that! TY
