kfoster70
I am about to purchase this lens from a friend and I would like to use a Nikon teleconverter on it. Looking at Nikons website I dont see either of the 2 non-VR AFS versions of this lens as compatable with Nikon teleconverters. Both of the VR versions as well as the AF-I version are listed but not these. Before trying to get ahold of Nikon I thought Id try you guys.

Has anyone used either of these 2 non-VR AFS 300mm f/2.8 with a Nikon teleconverter?
ShunCheung
All versions of the Nikon TC-14e, TC-17e, and TC-20e are fully compatible with any Nikon 300mm/f2.8 AF-S lens, pre-VR and VR. Just make sure that there is an "e" in the TC model number. For the TC-20e, there are now versions 1, 2 and 3.
bjørn rørslett
I'm using the AFS 300/2.8 Mk.1 and it most assuredly works with each and every of the "E" TCs. Thus, TC-14E, TC-17E, TC-20E.
