wil_ussery
I just purchased a used Mamiya 645 35mm lens and would appreciate some samples from the group. I'll be using the lens primarily to shoot landscapes.

patrick_mont
Great work! I need to pick a wide angle lens next. I have 80 and 150....
Giovanni Cappai
Thank you Patrick. If you don't want something very wide I suggest the 55mm/2.8. It's a fantastic lens! And is very cheap used also....
Lately I have replaced both the 55 and the 80 with an 55-110 zoom which is equally good except of reflections.

adamjohnson
My primary landscape lens this past summer had been the 45mm f/2.8. I picked up the 35mm f/2.8 a couple of months back and found it very similar to the 45mm, just a bit wider.

The 35mm f/2.8 is great lens. I'm using the older "C" version.

rodeo_joe1
35mm f/2.8? I don't think so. Mamiya's 35mm lens has an f/3.5 maximum aperture.
The IQ of the 35mm lens is a bit soft in the corners, due, I believe to quite severe field curvature. IME the 45mm S or N series lens is much superior in this respect, and better suited to general use than the 35mm which equates to about a 22mm lens on the 36x24mm format.
Whatever you do, don't touch the older 45mm f/2.8 Sekor with the large 77mm filter thread. It's a real dog!

philip_wilson
I cannot post samples as I am not at home but I have the 35 F3.5, 45 F2.8 and 55 f2.8. Of the three the 55mm is the best lens and as Adam says the 35mm and 45mm are similar. Of the two I prefer the 35mm mainly because the wider angle of view tends to make the lens edge softness less obvious. All 3 of my lenses are N series and I agonized about the 35mm before i added it to my collection.

Here is my post on this lens and the helpful responses I received
http://www.photo.net/medium-format-photography-forum/00UIcm
