laur1
Never heard of this particular model, but I heard that Takumars in bayonet mount were of lesser quality than the screwmount series - they were more of a budget series. Hearsay, no direct experience though.
stemked
Vijay,

I took a quick buzz over to Boz's site. He does not list a 24mm Takumar K-mount (non-SMC lens). There were 28mm f2.8 Takumars that look like a rebagged version 1 of the 28mm f2.8 M and a lens he has listed as a non-SMC lens called the CPC Phase 2 24/2.8 which you can check out here:
http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/lenses/primes/_non-SMC/cpc-24f2.8.html
And then of course there two versions of Pentax SMC 24mm f2.8s; a K and an A.
If it truely is a Takumar, could it be a homemade job of a modified screw mount to K mount lens?
stemked
On conducting a wider search I did find that a 24mm 2.8 Takumar Screw mount was made, but again no indication that a K-mount version exists.
vijaykishan
Hello All,

Thanks for all the responses. I finally bought the lens out of sheer curiosity. It turns out that is is an "Eximar" re-branded / custom made to read Takumar :( . I made sure that I could return it though, so I get my money back.
User_502260
When was a 24/2.8 Takumar screw mount lens made? I have only seen a 24/3.5 Takumar screw mount lens.
stemked
Jeff, I got the information out of McBroom's Camera Bluebook. It is the 95-96 edition and only list the lens as a Takumar (not Super Takumar or SMCT so I suspect it was a very early lens. The recommended price back then for an 'excellent' lens was $200 (by comparison the 24mm f3.5 ST was $160 for mint or $170 for an Excellent 24mm f3.5 SMCT). So sorry, no dates, but I would wager it is a mid 1960s lens.
