scott_murphy_photography Posted December 5, 2009 Share Posted December 5, 2009 <p>Personally, I think getting a good mat cutter like the Logan model 301 and doing it yourself is a lot cheaper in the long run. You don't need a drymount press like I use, photo safe 3M adhesive works fine, though it's long term durability is not up to drymounting standards. I usually trim all my prints in one way or another prior to matting and therefore all my overmat windows are different sized. A Logan cutter is about $75. A lab can charge that much to mount two 11 x 14 prints with beveled overmats. Good quality acid-free (important!) mat board can be found for about $7 for a white 32 x 40 sheet in a store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.</p> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
