b.d.trabitz___
The October issue of PCPhoto had a "puff" piece about the AcerScan PrisPrisa 620PT scanner. The article made this inexpensive scanner sound like the answer to my needs. That is a scanner that would enable me to put my art on the net, scan prints, and scan 6x6 and 4x5 negatives. Has anyone had experiance with this scanner? Barry zonedoc@aol.com
altaf
You want a scsi scanner not a parallel port one.
dominique_cesari
I have an Acer 620 ST, which seems the same, but in SCSI connection ( I seconding Altaf poster suggesting SCSI - for transparencies, you will scan at 1200 dpi and get an heavy output file). This scanner allows inexpensive solution to be able to show your pictures on the web. However, the quality of the image coming from a 6x6 transparencie is noticeably under that of the same subject shot in 35 mm and scanned at 1350 dpi on a film scanner. You may look at my page http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Louvre/7842/textenum/photo11.htm (in French) at the bottom you have side by side comparison of Nikon Coolscan / Acer 620ST results.
