Hello folks,

I am a once upon a time IT techie dude has has probably forgotten

most of what I have learned.

Here is my issue: I can't figure out how to get the nikon n90s kodak

dcs 420 to connect to my PC win98.

I have adaptec 2910 adapter.......windows see's the adapter, but no

device hooked to it. I have used the dos disk to change config

settings to different options, nothing makes the PC automatically

find camera. Should the PC find the camera on its' own ? If it isn't

supposed to find on its' own, then where do I go from here. I have

been on Kodak website and there is so much firmware, files, software,

that I don't even know where to begin. Twain ?

??????

I am hoping someone is out there who knows these things backwards and

forwards who can maybe talk me thru what files and procedures I need

to do to get this thing to communicate with the PC. I have tried

various scsi id settings via the back of the camera including "PP"

& "PC" settings,.... all to know avail ??

I talked with a local techie shop who informed me that the adaptec

model I got is a poor model and sometimes doesn't even work. I don't

know if I have a termination issue, I have tried automatic

termination & enabled, none of these settings made the PC find the

camera.

My SCSI cable is 50 pin micro to 25 pin regular.

HELP !! ?? I know this camera is sweet, can't wait to use it

effectively.

Also the camera is set to monochrome pictures......From what I have

read in the manual, it looks like this setting needs to be changed

via software or firmware......but I also read stuff about "AQUIRE"

& "TWAIN"........BASICALLY YOU CAN SEE I AM SOOOO CONFUSED.

THANK YOU, I HAVE A LOT OF GREAT NON-MP3 LIVE MUSIC, IF THERE IS

SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO CAN ENLIGHTEN ME ON THIS CAMERA, I WOULD BE

HAPPY TO HOOK YOU UP WITH SOME SERIOUSLY GREAT MUSIC !!!...REALLY
