Free gallery without excessive ornaments

I need a tool to add photos to my personal web-site. I know html, but do not know xml and other programming languages.
My original site was html-based but to add a photo I had to manually edit individual pages.
Now I use Coppermine. It's ok but it has too many distracting details. You can see it here http://www.denis-kazakov.name/coppermine/index.php
I tried SimpleViewer. It is much better but previews are ridiculously small and you can't do anything about it in the free version.
I will be grateful for any suggestions.

If you like SimpleViewer, I'd suggest Porta: http://www.stegmann.dk/mikkel/porta/
An example from my site: http://moving-target-photos.com/2007SMR/

I used to use it quite a bit, but more recently I've been using JAlbum: http://jalbum.net/software
An example of the Chamelon skin: http://moving-target-photos.com/WIC/2009StPaulWinterCarnival/

Denis,

I assume you want to stay with a lightbox style viewer. The links below are to several javascript lightbox style image viewers. You know some HTML, and they're well documented, so you shouldn't have trouble incorporating any of them. You do not need to know javascript. Since you have different categories of images on your site, you could use a thumbnail of each category on your homepage as a link to the image viewer for that category. There's no real limit to the number of categories/viewers you could use.

Geoff and Bill!
Thank you! I will play with these and see which one works best for me. Lightbox style is close to what I want: uncluttered pages with black background and easy viewing of pictures. The number of categories is limited so it won't be difficult to set up a viewer for each one.

After some fooling with the viewers, I would say that Porta is good and very simple to use. Its end product is similar to Coppermine but has no distractive ornaments. Lightbox requires manual editing of html codes but the end product (http://www.denis-kazakov.name/studioportraits.html, still working on it) is better to my taste.
Thanks again!
