scrwkng
I have just acquired and old Icarette folding camera. I believe I have nailed the model down to a Junior 'D'. The body measures 8" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" and appears to shoot at 2 1/2" x 4 1/4".
That was the easy part. Around the lens is labeled Zeiss Ikon and appears to have a Compur shutter rated to 1/250. Also at the top of the body in gold leaf is the label J. Lizars Glasgow, which I found to be a maker/distributor or cameras many years ago.
The lens is giving me some difficulty as I can not seem to find any information. It is a labeled as "Preminar" 1:4,5 F=12cm. I can not seem to find any information on the lens.
I am wondering if anybody has any more knowledge to add regarding any aspect of this camera. I am interested in finding out all I can about it. I also intend to put a roll of film through it as all appears to be working well and seemingly to be in great condition.

Thank you for any further help!
User_503771
Zeiss Ikon started as a merger between major firms. I don't remember exactly which ones, but they included some part or all of Zeiss, Ica and Goerz.

The Lens Vademecum lists the Preminar as being produced by Goerz and possibly by Ica in the early conglomerate years. It doesn't give a lens formula, but I'd bet it's a triplet. Might be good, give it a shot.
