patrick_f
Hello,
Tonight I was browsing on Fleabay and I kept coming across these generic softboxes with grids for very little money (compared to the big brands). They look cheap and I am hesitant but does anyone have any experience with these?
Thanks,
Patrick
pge
I have experience with one of them, its a Dynaphos, 3x4. It was very inexpensive and does a great job, the light is very nicely diffused. However the speedring needed some serious modification to fit my normans. Are you handy with a dremel? If you are not a pro and you would prefer more modifiers rather than blowing your whole budget on one amazingly expensive softbox I suggest you try one out.
tim_ludwig2
Patrick, Take a look at the soft boxes on the White Lightning web site. They've got a very wide range of sizes and I believe a speed ring may be included with the purchase price. Even their largest box is a very reasonable price. The only draw back is that the last time I checked, theirs were not manufactured with a recessed front. Otherwise they are a terrific value.
raymond bradlau
I was going recommend Dynophos/Amvona as well but it looks like they are gone from ebay, one of my favorites modifiers is the 5 foot octobox and stand I got for $100
