<p>I didn't get that. According to mir.com and the Canon Museum sites, all "white body" FD teles and super teles use a 48mm drop-in filter. The EF lenses use either a 48 or 52mm drop-in filter depending on when it was introduced (earlier lenses use 48mm and later use 52mm).</p>

<p>Sorry, Peter, you wrote FD, but I <em>read</em> EF and as I said, "the EF" lenses...<br>

Since I came in from the Unified Forum, I didn't realize where I was. Of course that is getting to be true more generally..... I wondered where the 400mm f/4.5 came from. I use both EF and FD lenses too, to make it even less excusable.</p>
