bob_bicknell
Hi
I will be heading to Acadia on the 11th or 12th of October for a few days. On the way I am thinking of making a detour onto Blue Hill peninsula with the intent of getting some photos in the vicinity of Caterpillar Hill and the blueberry barrens.
Would anyone be able to give me an idea as to how the color on the blueberry barrens might be? Are these colors in sync with the other foliage or do the blueberry bushes turn red later in the season?
Can you also suggest any other spots for autumn photos on Blue Hill? I've never stopped there before so this peninsula is new to me.
Thanks
Bob Bicknell

charles_stobbs3
I've been through Blue Hill several times but am not familiar with the sites you mention. There is a fire tower on Blue Hill, a few miles north of town, with good views (after a short hike up). There are some good scenes along the coast if you explore a bit. Castine, on the same peninsula, is also senic. There are some blueberry barrens in the town of Machias where a forest fire burned over many years ago.
