roypanos
I shoot quite a lot of VR panos using a D200 and the 10.5 FE. I've had the hood shaved off this lens so that it's also useable on my D700 as a circular FE. On balance this has proved pointless. Although the number of shots required is reduced a little I get no real benefit over the D200/10.5 combination which I usually shoot at F8 and ISo <400. DR isn't an issue as I am usually doing HDR bracketing - although other things being equal I'd like to use the D700 to speed things up a bit without incurring noise penalties. I can't justify a 16mm Nikon FE so I was wondering if anyone can actually recommend the Zenitar lens when used stopped down to F8 or thereabouts?A direct comparison with the Nikon lens would be great, but I assume that it's unlikely to be available. Pity the Samyang 8mm is DX...
Roy
epp_b
"Barbie's Boyfriend" who does "Well" with "Rocks" has a review on it. He seems to think it's alright stopped down. Take from that what you will, however.
