anejo
Nice photos this week. Lots of soul and depth. I want to get this posted as I am in a rush. This was taken on the last day of our 3 day weekend while traveling in the mountains of rural Maryland and in this case West Virginia. Beautiful country. To me, this photo represents the diversity of this region. Yes a top hat worn by a 20 something year old in the far right. Quite a place. Handheld at half a second so not the best.
Nikon d300 1/2 sec f4 at 13mm w/tokina 11-16

jam_pasion
Hello, Wednesday! And Everybody!
These birds have become my favorite subjects this summer. They are quite a curious bunch and would fly right past me. Sometimes I could hear them zip by.
Anyways, took this with my birding combo - Nikon D200, 500mm f4p with a tc-14b, Feisol CT-3342, CB-70h.
Late afternoon light on the background with the Cedar Waxwing in partial shade.

Matt Laur
Well, it's just about Thursday where I'm sitting, so I don't feel too premature in mentioning:

Jose: Nice period feel, there. Good instincts on leaving that subject looking a bit crunchy.

Per-Christian: I like the confounding sense of vehicle scales, there. Such great timing with paint colors.

Lil: This is my favorite of your IR shots so far. It has a wonderful, absurd, beautiful theatricality.

Ton: Color! Be still, my heart! I like the sense that car number two is sweating, since it knows you're watching.

Lex: For as often as you mention wrestling with skin tones using that rig, that seems utterly real to me.

Louis M: Love the pack dynamics, there. Anyone who lives with dogs is feeling that image.
Richard: I'm glad that candid portrait made the Wednesday cut. Lovely.

Jim: What IS it about state fair goats? I think they breed them for hamminess, as it were. What fun.

Dieter: Completely poetic. Very effective.

Matt Laur: Aren't you done with the black and whites YET? Come ON, man.

Richard K: That young loon is a treat for those of us who don't see them often. Thanks for your hard work.

Mike McD: Curse you for making me want a D700. You've used it well in awful light.

Cees: That work you're doing on B&W conversions? Don't stop - great tones, there.

Gary McG: Great timing on the tide. The isolation of the lighthouse, and the textures you've created - perfect.

Amy Z: Nice skin tones. I just know I would have butchered that in post - so, great restraint there, and ideal eye emphasis.

Ty: Very playful, and skillfully done.

And of course everyone else I'm too sleepy to mention: it's the totality of these threads that are so motivating and entertaining. Thanks to all for presenting such interesting work, and for keeping the fire li

pvg photography
Well it is now Thursday and the Wednesday (trip around the world) is over. Photos that sparked my interest this week were:
Jose-Good Eye! Having worked in the food industry for a long time, I just chuckle to think how that image would drive both companies wild!!
Lil- Quite simply an intriguing photo. Well done.
Jim- The goats stopped me in my tracks every time I scrolled thru. What faces!!
Tim- Love the warmth in the shot. Nice capture.
Dieter- Have to say this is by far my favorite. Simply beautiful!
Steve Belden- Northeast Harbor?? Saw that you have shot some up in Maine, I'll be sailing out of Seal Harbor next weekend. Have been (playing) in Maine for many many years.
Aaron- the shot looks like it is right out of a movie set. NICE!
Ertugrul- I love how the bow of the boat and the frontal line divide the picture.
Ty- Great Imagination.
Jam- Beautiful background for the gray of the Cedar Waxwing. Nicely done.
The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer. -Author unknown
