wenhan_xue
I am using CoolScan 9000 for my medium format. The super scan uses 6-pin to 6-pin IEEE 1394 firewire for interaction from computer. I connected to computer which comes with 4-pin and was asked to install IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device (Of course I used 6-pin to 4-pin cable). I checked the package and did not find any. I went to Nikon web site for info, but was unlucky as well. Did I miss something here? Thanks.
greg_peterson3
Is the computer a notebook? If so, you may be able to find a device that fits into the "card slot" on your computer that offers one or more 1394 connectors. If it's a desktop, and if there is an empty PCI slot, you can buy a Firewire card and install it rather easily. (Most have 6 wire 1394 connectors and some offer extra USB connectors as well.) They aren't expensive.
Good luck.
ilkka_nissila
You connected the scanner to the firewire port, turned it on, turned on the computer, tried to install/run Nikon Scan and it suggested that message? Precisely in what context? Thanks.
arthuryeo
First of all, are you using the Nikon supplied Firewire card in your PC? If not, you are quite hosed and you have to try different ones.
