barry_cochran
You might want to check Erwin Puts review of the zoom where he compares it to fixed focal length R lenses in its range. I believe he said the zoom was better than the 21, 24, and 35mm lenses but not the 28mm. In the comparison I believe he was talking about the most recent 28mm Elmarit-R with built in hood. I have that lens and have been very pleased with the results I get with it. If I could afford it, I would love to have the zoom.
geoff_r1
I used to own the first version 28mm Elmarit R, it was good, but not one of the best R lenses. The second version apparently is a big improvement. No experience with the zoom, however.
agnius_griskevicius
I have experience with 21-35mm zoom on Canon's 5D and 1Dsm3. I find the images quite satisfactory, although the lens flares quite a bit if you shoot it into the sun. The built in shade doesn't seem to help. Flaring is most pronounced at the wide end of the zoom. As long as I keep an eye on the flare, the IQ is very good.
http://leicadig.blogspot.com/
http://www.agniusdigital.com
