miserere_mei
This is what video DSLRs are for, having fun :-) Kudos to Diego Lorenzo F. Jose for making me smile and want to get out and use my camera.

Enjoy!

http://vimeo.com/6095711
personalphotos
That is cool. You can tell that it was shot with a "photographers eye". For a first time, it's an awesome video and could put many videographers to shame.

It did elicit a smile here as well.
hagar
That was well put together. More skills to learn when one gets the k-7 :-)
andrewg_ny
That is really good, maybe somewhat inspiring even. I hate to complain because it was very well done, but did you notice those nasty vertical streaks caused by the relatively bright lights inside the otherwise dim bar? Do most digital sensors recording video do this?
personalphotos
That happens with even professional video cameras That's their version of flare. I used to be part of a video production company shooting 3 chip betacams and those $40,000 cameras would do that as well.
phule
[[ Do most digital sensors recording video do this?]]

This is called sensor blooming. The pixels are being overloaded by the bright light source. Yes, this is common with CCD sensors.
michael_kuhne
How delightful such a thing can be done using a K7, in addtion to its fine performance as a DSLR!!

Obviously some editing also was performed to bring this presentation off so well. I wonder what program was used, and what steps were taken to dub in the added sound?

mithrandir
You have just turned what I thought would be a useless feature into a must have. Great editing and shooting.

snik75
I have a very simple video editing program, for stringing together kid footage, and this must have taken a long time to put together. It is great, though - the video has beautiful depth and sharpness, and the playing with focus is often successful. Nice find!

staffan__gren
This is a video with a very nice mood! Judging the filming effort and the editing of the material as a whole, the video has a great charm saying "come with me and look around and have fun" in a lively and very creative mix of different people, actions, and things (especially the inclusion of unconventional parts like the bike ride at the end etc.). It is very encouraging to see what an inventive person can do with the k-7, indeed.
To be honest, there is some more camera movement than can be called fully professional. And the content is simple in the sense that is does not add any narrator, or much of the connected natural sounds and voices. On the other hand, the video does not claim to be more than a personal pictorial document by someone who loves to give evidence of a fun event in the company of friends. Restricted to that perspective, this video is very pleasant to look at.
To be fair, I have to stress that deliberate use of free movement in filming, within certain limits of course, support the feeling of freedom and having a pleasant time. Variable and sometimes odd perspectives, fast cuts, and added rhythmically floating music, introduce a beat that is a must for a modern "travelling pusher" that wants to attract viewers. This beat and feeling, and the final information texts, contribute to the impression of just having seen such a program on the telly. Congratulations to a nice piece of video, Miserere!
frank_b._baiamonte
That was great, it made my day.

I spotted the lady shooting film as well, looked like XP2-Super (C-41 b/w) if I'm not mistaken.
michael_kuhne
To Bob S.- twice the price of the previous model? Not at all!! That was actually a surprise. The K7 was introduced at exactly the same price as was the K20D, despite the metal body construction, the new features, and all that with an uncanny reduction in size. The K20D prices now are cut to a ridiculous degree, and are essentially closeout prices.

bob_stevenson
The k7 is 1200 pounds here in the UK,......thats about 2200 USD The k20 came in originally at 700 pounds so the k7 is nearly twice the price. Fortunately it looks like Panasonic and Sony are going to give the DSLR market a good shake up and not before time. Sony a850 full-frame looks good and is soon going to be the same price as k7......Can't wait for a decent value for money digital camera at last. Panasonic GH1 is 200 pound less than k7 with much better implemented video.
