summitar
In another thread, I read the tantalizing post that some modern digital cameras accept the Pentax lenses. Please tell me which ones.

I love the fact that my Nikon D200 accepts my older AI Nikkor lenses.

starvy
kerry, for m42 lenses you would need to buy an adaptor. if your camera has in body stabilisation, the cheaper adaptors would not allow for shake reduction. all m42 lenses would be manual focus.
cliffmanley
Kerry, this isn't the forum for that question, you need to ask the digital guys. We don't deal with them here, since those bodys are not classic or manual.

Not trying to suck up, but over the years I have found this forum to be the best informed of all. I have well over a hundred classic cameras, including about two dozen of those that are rarely even mentioned here anymore, the classic Voigtlanders.

Dunno about the others.

dave_green5
M42 lenses can work quite well on Pentax, Canon, Olympus, Panasonic cameras, when used with the proper adapter.

I use a couple of M42 lenses on my Olympus DSLRs. But, you are limited to manual focusing, and also metering at the shooting aperture. My 55mm f1.8 SMC Pentax lens makes a superb portrait lens on 4/3. In-body IS works the same way as on Pentax DSLRs - you set the focal lenght manually on cameras that have in-body IS, such as my E-520.
