pcnilssen
You can also try Irfanview from www.irfanview.com. Also free.
munim
I use Picasa myself. I'd rather use my money to buy lenses than buy Aperture or Lightroom. For the moment anyway. In Picasa, go to File->Export Picture to Folder. You can set the HORIZONTAL resolution. The default is 640 px. For uploading to this site, I would change that number to 700. The vertical resolution depends on the current aspect ratio.
joe_a2
Ken... Use View NX. Right click on the thumbnail to get the drop-down menu. Click on Output, then click on Convert Files. This will open the Convert Files dialog box, where you can make size changes and name changes and destination choices. You can use it for resizing or for conversion of NEFs to JPEGs.

If you want to resize many images at once, select them as usual with Ctrl/Left Mouse (or Ctrl+A to select all the images), then right click on any of the highlighted thumbnails to get to Output > Convert Files.
robbie_robertson
If you have Windows OS, the Picture And Fax Viewer has a beginners resizing utility that is easily understood and works quickly for a variety of preselected sizes (and suggested uses, such as 'Web, Large Document, Small Document etc.'). I use it for quick and dirty downsizing.

JeffOwen
Ken, I have just installed the free Nikon ViewNX program and it's just great for doing a whole batch of file changes including relabelling and resizing. Do as Joe A suggests.

waldemar_giers___kitchener
I did not mansion above - if you have small # of pictures to resize you can use your Windows operating system to do it for you. Open your JPG with Paint then hit Ctrl and W together and dial horizontal and vertical # and enter.
