ajrobertson
I am looking to get into dslr and am primarily into macro upclose photography. I am looking for something generally in the middle-ground when it comes to price $1000ish and want to be able to grow within a system. I also want to have the flwxibility to expand my interests (so i guess censor size MPGS etc will come into play)
there are always upgraded models on the horizon and am looking for opinions on a good setup,

cheers,
Andrew

jcuknz
If you pick a Canon EOS mount then Ebay found me a set of extension tubes for Australian $29.95. Manual of course so pick a lens with control over the iris to use with them. Though perhaps you have them already to take your shot above. I also have EOS to M42 rings which also opens up the field so that a good M42 lens can be used with or without tubes on the EOS mounting camera.
