roger_smith4
I use an older MIS inkset on an even cheaper Epson printer. I think the print quality is excellent, and uses fewer color pigments than Epson ABW mode so the prints should last longer without fading. lancenoell
I had been using the MIS UT14 setup in a 1400 and had really nice results. I recently purchased a 2880 and with the few B&W test prints I have done so far, the MIS inks definately give great results.
zac_sanders
Would you say the 1400 with the UT14 inks gave the same of better quality compared to your 2800 im debating weather i just upgrade or by the ink set?
lancenoell
So far, to my eye the same, and maybe even better once I get some new paper.
To me, and the main reason I upgraded, is that now I can print a mountable B&W that I am extremely pleased with and then choose the next picture and get a color print that I can mount on the wall as well. It was just a pain with the 1400 only being able to print B&W. When I first got the 1400 I thought I would be printing the majority of my work in B&W, but my wife enjoys color and I have been enjoying it more and more, and it would really annoy me to see color prints done on our cheap multipurpose Canon. Not something I would hang on my wall.
In my opinion, save your money and buy the 2880, you won't ever be sorry.
