Kent Shafer
When I want to save a jpeg of an image I've been working on in CS4, I make a duplicate (using Image-Duplicate) and give the duplicate a unique name. Then I flatten it, resize, maybe do some other stuff, and finally run an action I wrote that adds a black border, sharpens, and saves as a jpeg to the folder where I keep jpegs. The saving is done with Save As, not with Save for Web & Devices.

Everything works fine except that the saved file always has the word "copy" appended - even though there is no other file in that folder (or anywhere at all for that matter) with the original name. This does not happen if I run all the steps included in the action manually - only when it's done via the action. Is there any way to avoid "copy" in the file name when using the action?
swenson
Couldn't you simply save-as and put any name you wanted?
Kent Shafer
Jim, thanks. Save As works fine on its own. But when I try to include it in an action, I get the "copy" problem. Maybe it can't be done and I'll just have to stick with manual saving.
