Off to the South of France - what films to take?

Hi all,

First off, apologies if you think this would be better placed in the Film & Processing forum.
Tomorrow I am off to the south of France, driving from the UK and am looking for a few film suggestions. I have a lot of colour neg film but would like to try out some colour slide film for the first time, and tend to enjoy a slightly vintage/washed out aesthetic.
In terms of b/w, I am very familiar with Ilford HP5 but would like to use a film that is fine in grain and nice and contrasty.
I hope it will be very sunny and will be shooting in available light at all times - in terms of my style of shooting, check out these examples (again, sorry if I shouldn't post this link): http://www.flickr.com/photos/tjbaxter/collections/72157614340265039/
I'll be taking my Nikon F90X/N90S with a couple of Nikkor primes and a recently acquired a Canon AE-1 Program with some FD primes and zooms, so that will be along for the ride too.

Look forward to hearing all and any thoughts,

I would take Fuji Professional reversal films. For early morning and late afternoon sun, I would use Velvia 50. That is what I used the most in Provence. During the day, Velvia 100 or Velvia 100F or Provia 100F. For low light, Provia 400F. In my opinion, the pro films are worth the extra money.
Get your camera meters checked before you take your trip. You do not want to overexpose any slide film shots. And taking more than one shot at different exposures is a pain in the pocket book.
