<p>Well, 4 July was a little quiet here in the UK ..... we usually have a neighbor who usually launches a few sky-rockets - maybe he's back in the US at present.</p>

<p>Harry, the film was processed by a local wedding/portrait studio. Their scanning seems odd, with haloes around any object that's seta against a blue sky, though the negs seem ok.</p>

<p>Charles, I was at a 4 July party in backwoods Montana a few years back - anyone and everyone was enthusiastically firing off a whole arsenal of explosive devices in a haphazard manner. The gas mask idea seems quite sound - I'd add a helmet too.</p>
