jim_forrest
Just downloaded the trial version of CS4 as I have just bought an Eos 5D Mk2. It will not open RAW files and my photo dealer tells me to download the plug in from adobe (camera raw 5.3). This has been done but still the RAW images will not open. Any ideas?

Thanks
Jim
rainer_t
Downloading the plugin is one thing, installing the plugin into the correct place is another ... so the question: Have you also copied the plugin into the correct place of the CS4 installation?
jim_forrest
HI Rainer T
Thanks for your response but can you tell me where and how it should be copied?
Thanks

Jim
douglas lee
Jim, go back to the Adobe site and read the install instructions. They tell you exactly where to install the files. Exact location depends on the OS (Mac/Windows.) Good luck and enjoy.
rainer_t
You should be able to locate it in the CS4 directory tree ... search for a file named "Camera Raw.8bi". This is the plugin itself. If you don't replace it with the pluginfile that comes with the version 5.3, your CS4 will still work with the old plugin.

ray .
Whatever you do with CS4, be sure to try the Canon DPP software for RAW. Excellent rendition of color, maybe the best for the 5D.
michael_tabor
Jim,
Adobe also tells how to change the generic thumbnails to photos in there manual install. Once installed correctly by the manual instructions. In Bridge choose tools>cache>pruge central cache. You should now see photo thumbmnails.
