Manfrotto 357plate on 503 fluid head

<p>I have a question for those who own Manfrotto/Bogen <a href="http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/492158-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_503HDV_503HDV_Fluid_Head.html">503 fluid head</a> .<br>

This head uses 501pl QR plates. Is it possible to change the adapter on top and replace it with a <a href="http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554151-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_357_357_Pro_Quick_Release.html">357PLV adapter</a> , that accepts longer and double screw 357 plates (same as 393 gimbal mount)?</p>
