peter_dalton
OK, I'll bight. 1200 dpi scanner. Lens with only enough image circle to cover a 35 mm neg (1" x 1.5"). How does this work out to 130 megapixels? Put this device behind an 8x10 view camera lens and you might get there.

philip_wilson
Using FD lenses on a Panasonic G1 produces very good images if you really need to shoot digital.
peter_ferling
I have used FD lenses with an adaptor on EOS to some success, infinity focus is mixed bag, I have an FD 100mm f/2.8 that works. I also have a 35mm F/2.8 T/S that was refitted for EOS and it has infinity focus, and it's sharpness and contrast are comparable to L lenses.

When the warranty runs out on my 40D I plan to have it modified to accept FD lenses (modify the camera body, and not the lenses) just for kicks.
jtk
Guess what...35mm color film is 125MP from a Nikon V scanner, standard 4000ppi resolution.
Every Canon FD is natively 125MP :-)

dave_green5
For folks who want to use their FD glass on digital, it would seem that Micro 4/3 is the way to go.
