leica m4, black chrome [and black paint] production question[s]

does anyone out there have information that would answer these questions:<br>

were black chrome m4 bodies made in germany And canada?<br>

were all black paint m4 bodies made in germany?<br>

do you have dates/serial numbers for the german ones?<br>

i have looked at this thread: http://www.photo.net/leica-rangefinders-forum/00FQbh - but am still a little unclear. hence my post, here.<br>

any help appreciated.<br>

Serial numbers for Canada are shown as ELC, which I assume is E. Leitz Canada.<br>

I own a chrome ELC M4 and mine shows Wetzlar Germany on the top plate so some of these have probably been assembled from German parts.</p>
