gary_roberton
I have got a Nikon FM with a broken eyecup, after a quick search on google I bought the Dk3 eyecup but it wont fit. The eyepiece screws off the eyecup goes on but the eyepiece will not screw back on. The eyepiece seems to be exactly the same size as the eyecup. Does anyone know if this is actually the correct eyecup for this camera or is the eyepiece not the right, original one.
Thanks in advance for ay advice.
Dieter Schaefer
It's been a very long time since I had the FM and tried the eyecup. DK3 is correct - and I might be mistaken but believe the eyecup screws onto the eyepiece.
User_276104
DK-3 is correct, and it is a bit tricky to get it on. Aside from getting the eyepiece threads to take, you then have to consider the position of the cup so that the "flip up" part is on the bottom to facilitate opening the back.

eb_lim
Its the right eye cup but it should have been made better. I remember mine came off quite easily and I eventually lost it. I never bothered replacing it.
eb
gary_roberton
So do you just try to screw the eyecup onto the body?
When I got the camera it came with an eyecup that was torn - hence me getting a replacement. On the old one, you unscrewed the eyepiece (the black part) and then the eyecup came off - it looks like a third party one as it was a different shape to the DK3. Now with the DK3 I thought I would need to unscrew the black bit, push the eyecup on and screw the black piece back on to hold the eyecup in place. The problem is that the length of the thread on teh black bit is as long as the eyecup is deep so when you put the eyecup on, the black piece will not screw in as the eyecup is in the way.
I will try again to get it to screw on directly.
