70-200 VR vs. 80-200/2.8: Back to the start

<p>Hi I'm a newbie photographer and wanted to shoot weddings, portraits and models. I'm on a tight budget right now, I'm reading about getting a 70-200 2.8 vr2 and stumbled upon 80-200 2.8 af-d and af-s. Will the 80-200 do the job? I'm thinking the photo quality should be great since they are both pro lenses. They also said that the 80-200 af-d is better built than the plastic af-s. Shuold I just get the 80-200 af-d? I'm just wondering if I will be able to focus on manual mode. Thanks!<br>
